Cashless
payment has become widley accepted as a natural progression within
the school environment.
As
new Government legislation
dictates that schools must soon monitor pupil meal uptake and their
nutritional values as part of their annual recording process. The
inclusion of an accurate meal recording system will very shortly be
of paramount importance, to school catering services.
One
way to achieve the new menu auditing requirements
simply
and efficiently will be by the introduction of our "QuickDine"
cashless trading system.
The
major benefits of this cashless system have been well documented.
Increased speed of operation by elimination of cash handling. Greater
uptake of school meals and revenues. (We have seen hundreds of pounds
a week in revenue increases at newly installed sites). Removal of
free meal stigma, reduced opportunity for bullying. Budgetary controls
and other ancillary uses for card or biometric technology within the
education environment, such as Pupil sports activity logging, Registration,
Library ID and door access.
LCR
Limited
are "One Stop Cashless Soloution Providers". In other words
we offer a complete package from one source, including Site Survey,
Hardware, Software, Installation, Training, Remote Support & Ongoing
Annual on-site maintenance facilities. The QuickDine Solution was
written with The School Caterer in mind. Our operators don't need
a degree in computer science or any Technical background knowledge.
The
"QuickDine" cashless
payment system is in daily use in over 30 schools throughout the North
West. The system was specifically designed as a result of first hand
experience in dealing with school caterering operations.
"QuickDine",Cashless
solutions Incorporate both magnetic stripe and biometric technology
options. Monetary values are stored on a secure PC system. The magnetic
card or finger print is used simply to allow the meal transaction
to take place.
The
QuickDine cashless system was one of the first to introduce Touch
screen tills in lieu of cumbersome Pad based Terminals. The Touch
Terminals incorporate 6 pre-programmed menu layouts for service periods.
This simplifies the transaction recording process and provides enhanced
speed of entry and pupil throughput. These combimations have proven
to beneficially reduce the meal service period times. Additionally
we have commsioned our own wallmounted revaluer units which provide
unattended access to pupils virtual electronic meal accounts. These
unit are used to add coins and notes automatically and may be used
by pupils to check current balances. The range includes Pinpad, Swipe-card
and Biometric i.d. methods
"QuickDine
Integration"The cashless system can easily accept
data from existing administration software operated by schools, such
as CAPTIA
SIMS.Net TM
CMIS TM,
PARS TM
This data interchange ability greatly reduces set-up time and subsequent
pupil updates during the new September school year.
Plastic
cards also provide fast I.d. methods, these may include photo i.d.
with the relevant school logo and pupil details, however the "QuickDine"
cashless system does not specifically require the photo image of the
cardholder to be printed on each card, as the system carries the individual
pupils photo image for meal entitlement validation at the terminal,
especially useful as cards tend to be "shared around".
................... QuickDine Biometric
ID has arrived
cashA cutting edge new i.d. method has
been added to the QuickDinecashless system in the form of Biometric
i.d. . Fingerprint scanning removes the onus of card management from
the Pupil. Additionally the expense of issuing new cards and the associated
administration is diminished for the school . The fingerprint system
is a secure and convenient method of pupil i.d. With
good captured print quality it can match
the 4 - 7 second transcation speed of card based alternatives.

For
convenience an additional USB camera can be added to one of the cashless
tills to keep images up to date or add new pupils as pupils they visit
the till.
Cheque
Payments
Students
cashles accounts can be recharged by Cheque at the office in school,
or by the coin/Note operated Revaluation Units. Credit card authorisation
facilities may be setup via Commidea WinTI within the school to handle
card transactions via telephone.
